Les Cèpes (6 persons)
In the middle of the forests of the Perigord Noir and 10 km from the famous medieval town of Sarlat, lies our holiday home of Les Cèpes on a hill at the end of a forest road. A wonderful calm place without any traffic, overlooking the Dordogne river making its way through the valley below along quaint villages such as Domme, La Roque-Gageac and Beynac. From Les Cèpes you can walk along a forest path to the river below (about 1,5 km) and several little beaches are within a 5 minute drive. The house is 2 km away from the village of Groléjac, where there is a bakery, a butcher, a supermarket and several restaurants. Groléjac also has a lake with a beautiful sandy beach (Plan d’eau). In the picturesque town of Sarlat (accessible by a bicycle path that used to be the train track to Sarlat) you can find many shops, restaurants, lovely markets and street festivals in summer. There are plenty of sights to see within a 15 km radius: Beautiful villages, caves, castles and gardens. Places like Rocamadour and Cahors are less than an hour away. From the house you can go on nice walks and cycling tours, and you can go canoeing on the Dordogne river of course. The swimming pool is 6 by 12 meters, and there are sun beds. On the grounds are also a table tennis table and a large trampoline.
The living room with a floor of fine chestnut wood and cosy sitting area has a modern open kitchen with built-in appliances, a spacious dining area and double doors to a sunny, partly covered terrace. The layout is comfortable, with a television with satellite reception (all Dutch channels are available), a dvd player, and a stereo with a cd player. On the same floor there are two spacious bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds, as well as a bathroom with a washbasin, shower, bath and a separate toilet. And open staircase leads to the second floor, where there are two cosy attic bedrooms. Each of these bedrooms has a washbasin, one has a double bed, the other has two single beds and another toilet.
Among other things the house has a washing machine, a dryer, an iron, a dishwasher, bed linen, and also a children’s bed and high chair if necessary.
